Spider Veins During Pregnancy
Spider veins are common skin lesions that get added to your skin changes category of pregnancy symptoms. These are minute reddish spots with tiny blood vessels that protrude outward like spider legs. They may be found on your face, neck, upper chest or arms.
What causes spider veins during pregnancy?
Spider veins are caused by an increase in serum estrogen concentrations and increased blood circulation.. Basically, these are another symptom of pregnancy attributed to your pregnancy related hormones.
When do spider veins occur during pregnancy?
Spider veins typically occur in the second half of pregnancy when the blood volume and circulation are at their greater levels. It is possible for them to develop during the first half of pregnancy.
How frequently spider veins occur?
Spider veins occur in approximately 66% of all pregnant Caucasian women, but only in about 10% of Black women.
